Today, Sports Illustrated's 38th-annual Swimsuit Issue is on newsstands and the cover model is ... Irina Shayk from Russia.

Since the first Swimsuit Edition in 1964, only 21 American models have been on the cover, including five of the last six.

Not that there's anything wrong with supermodels from other countries, but seeing an American model like Brooklyn Decker on the cover just makes you a bit prouder to be from the good old U.S. of A.
