AMBASSADOR OZZY

Ozzy Osbourne has been appointed Record Store Day Ambassador 2011. He says, "I now have the power to command you to attend Record Store Day, April 16th. Be there!"

Record Store Day celebrates the culture of independent record stores, and once again, a number of artists, including Ozzy, will mark the day with a special release. Ozzy's will be a seven-inch vinyl single of "Flying High Again" with a live version of "I Don't Know" on the B-side, along with full-length vinyl versions of the newly expanded 30th anniversary editions of his Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman albums.

Also in stores that day is a seven-inch single by Derek and the Dominos of the unreleased "Got to Get Better in a Little While" backed with "Layla." Jimi Hendrix will release a seven-inch single of "Fire" on red vinyl and a three-track CD. AC/DC will give us a sneak peak of their upcoming live album with a seven-inch vinyl single of "Shoot to Thrill" and "War Machine." And there will also be releases by The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, ZZ Top, The Beach Boys and Pink Floyd's original singer, the late Syd Barrett.
