OZZY's DNA Not DOA

Ozzy Osbourne is to have his genetic code analyzed and mapped – in an attempt to find out how he's managed to live for so long.

No, it's not a spoof – this is really gonna happen.

US company Knome are to undertake the task, in the hope of finding out how, despite decades of excess, Ozzy’s still very much alive and kicking.

We wonder whether they'll discover that the secret to long life is a diet of booze, drugs and wild behavior. Certainly hope so!

The question is, will they then look to clone the Prince Of Darkness – and provide us with an entire nation of Ozzys?!

DJ ---> VJ -----> TJ ???????

LOS ANGELES — Remember the MTV VJ? That's so two decades ago. Now the network is looking to hire its first TJ, or Twitter Jockey.

MTV officials say the search is on for a new social media maven who will engage with the MTV audience and serve as a liaison between viewers and network honchos.

MTV General Manager Stephen Friedman called the TJ position "a natural evolution of how we connect with our audience."

The network has identified 18 potential candidates and is asking its audience to find two more. The 20 hopefuls will compete in a series of online challenges this summer designed to reveal their personalities and demonstrate how they connect with Twitter followers.

Five finalists will ultimately compete on a live show on Aug. 8, when fans will pick who gets the new job.

What's the Penalty for "Slashing"?

Slash was tackled by a fan while playing the solo in "Sweet Child O' Mine" Thursday night during a show in Milan, Italy. Slash wrote on Facebook, "Rowdy crowd for sure. But amazing! The guy who nailed me didn't take me down, but he busted my poor guitar. Ah well, it was a kick-ass rock show." The fan was removed by security, but according to Slash's wife Perla, he wasn't arrested.

You Scream, I Scream, We All Scream for a Record

Rocker Ozzy Osbourne has helped set a new world record by leading baseball fans in the longest and loudest scream, ever.

The record bid took place at Dodgers Stadium in LA during a match between the Dodgers and LA Angels, with Ozzy taking to the field at half time.

Ozzy - dubbed the Prince of Darkness - stood in the centre of the field and waves his arms to encourages fans to scream the word 'scream' for over a minute.

Adjudicators from the Guinness Book Of Records were on hand to measure the volume and longevity of the scream, which they confirmed as a new record.

In odd news, many fans said they were not aware of the Thinkcure event and were just screaming because they had seen Sharon Osbourne.

Vuvuzela = Annoying Horn.

Alright... I tried to watch the World Cup (U.S. vs England) this weekend and my honest opinion....Meh! Maybe my North American football-adled brain can't wrap around this "futball" game (aka soccer) but it wasn't even engaging to me. Apparently a tie (nobody winning) is something to feel good about? Who'd have thought? Curling, I discovered in the Winter Olympics this year, was more entertaining than the World Cup. And what's the deal with the "locust sound"? Honestly I initially thought,"Wow! The bugs are really, REALLY bad in South Africa." Really. But I then found out the sound was emanating from a traditional South African horn called a "vuvuzela". Apparently I was not the only one noticing the non-stop"buzzing" - people have been complaining about the sound world-wide - turning down their sets to watch even. Advertisers aren't happy about this and FIFA (soccer's governing body) isn't too thrilled with the "buzz" either. It may even be worse than the Viking's Horn they blast in the Metrodome - NO... just kidding NOTHING is more annoying than that. But I can see these horns making their way into NFL stadiums - mark my words.
